DESCRIPTION
FW-LTR is a powdered low temperature cement retarder for slurries designated for use from 85°F to 185°F. FW-LTR can also be dispersed easily in water and is compatible with either fresh or sea water.
FW-LTR is compatible with all of the commonly used cements and cement additives. The normal concentration range of FW-LTR is 0.2 to 0.5 % BWOC.
Generally speaking, the use of FW-LTR at 0.4 % BWOC mixed with class "G" cement and fresh water at 15.8 Ppg. will provide appx. 31/2 hrs. TT. at BHCT of 145 deg. F. However, a dispersant will have an additional retarding effect when used with FW-LTR and could add another one to two hours thickening time to the cement slurry. Therefore, specific thickening time data for slurry design must be determined in the laboratory with the cement, water and other additives prior to the cement job.
